Anonymous asked: Determine whether the quadratic function f(x) =3X^square^ - 12x + 1 has a maximum or a minimum. Then find the maximum or the minimum of the value.

f(x) = 3x^2-12x+1

since a = 3 > 0, f has a minimum value at x = -b/2a

         x = -(-12)/(2(3))

         x = 2

        f(2) = 3(2)^2 -12(2) + 1 = -11

So the minimum  value of f is -11
